  APRIL 2011

Hope we all had a safe and Happy Easter; will probably be a long time before we get a break that long again.

At this point may we remind those of you who have Superannuation Contributions coming from more than one source to please check the amounts contributed so that we do not exceed the annual limits for this year and attract Excess Superannuation Contributions Tax.

The Tax Office is watching this part of Superannuation very carefully and is quick to apply the extra tax. Planners and Employers should be aware of the limits.

Limits for the year are - Age to 50 Years - Concessional Cap - $25,000.00

                                    Age over 50 Years - Concessional Cap - $50,000.00

Just a note to thank those of our clients that have managed to get their information to us, giving us time to complete and lodge. Those still outstanding should get a wriggle on.

Articles this month centre around the Taxation and Distribution of Income from Trusts, a quick look at the economy and its future, a comment on inflationary trends, SME's and future borrowing sources and some last minute tax tips for the year 2011.

Many thanks for your support,

George Psiakis and John Clarke
