Another year another Budget.

We mention below some changes through the Budget that will affect Small Business, and a breakdown of the major items.

Building & Construction Industry – The Tax Office has requested as from 01 July 2012, that all connected with this industry, and employing Contractors, that Employers report annually all payments made to those Contractors, who they are, their ABN (if known) and address.

To check if you are regarded as being in the Building & Construction industry check the listing provided.

You have a Self Managed Superannuation Fund? Be aware of the responsibilities that attach to your role as Trustee and in managing the Fund. Talk to someone who knows before making any “large” decisions.

An explanation of the $150,000 Non-Concessional Contributions cap and the $450,0003 year cap.

As a Director you have distinct obligations in regard to the Administrative management of the company, and the latter does not need to be listed on the Stock Exchange or turning over millions. Correct accounting and annual reports are essential in managing the company and its business.
